1. Be Patient and Respect the Animal's Space
- Animals take time to trust new individuals. Patience is key; don't rush the process. If the animal shows signs of discomfort, give it space. Respecting its boundaries will help build trust.
2. Use Non-Threatening Body Language, Mimic Sounds
- Sudden movements can startle animals. Approach them slowly and calmly to avoid scaring them away. Avoid direct eye contact and make yourself appear smaller to seem less threatening to the animal. If the animal makes any sounds, try to mimic them. This can sometimes pique their curiosity or be interpreted as friendly behavior.
3. Seek Mutual Benefit, Offer Food
- Find ways that the animal benefits from the relationship, not just the adventurers. Just like in the real world, offering food can be a good way to make friends with an animal. Make sure the food is appropriate for the species.
